Just south of Sausalito is Yellow Bluff, which has famous tidal rip currents that kayakers love to play in:

I paddled from Horseshoe Bay near the Goldon Gate Bridge into this beach in downtown Sausalito on April 27th, 1996. This was the first trip I ever took with a group of other kayakers, people from BASK, the Bay Area Sea Kayakers.
