Pacifica and San Pedro Point

back to my home page. To see a map of this area.

On October 7th 1998 I paddled a short section of coastline north of the Pacifica State Beach (often called the Linda Mar Beach).

In the middle of the San Mateo County coastline there is this amazing island made out of tilted plates of sedementary rock.

Approaching the island from the south.
The island is separated from the mainland by a string of rocks.
The island is made of rock layers tilted over 60 degrees.

San Pedro Island viewed from the south, far away and up close.
